"Could you read me a story, please?" How many times has your child asked this question? And, how many times has your child asked for the exact same bedtime story as last night and the night before?
Children love repetition and it is, in fact, good for them. However, as adults reading the same stories night after night, we can lose interest more quickly.
The purpose of my blog is to share with you the stories I have written for my children. These are tales that can be read several times and provoke different conversations with every reading and with every age.
Realizing just how busy we parents are and how much we miss out on our children's days, I have written stories to encourage communication.
There are lots of questions that can come up after a story, from the reader as much as from the listener. At the end of each story, I have written a few follow-up questions that may be useful to you.
Bedtime is a "comfy cozy time". It should be calm and reassuring so that the child can sleep peacefully and wake up happy. It's a time to close one day, putting behind us whatever may have happened at school, on the playground, at the office... to open up a fresh new day in the morning.
